Hi, I'm Bri
I’m Bri, a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC), Canadian Certified Addictions Counsellor (CCAC), Certified Professional Recovery Coach (CPRC), and Certified Problem Gambling Counsellor. I’m based in Nanaimo, BC, and offer both in-person and virtual sessions to make support as accessible as possible.
While I specialize in addiction recovery—including substance use, problem gambling, and related behavioural patterns—my work extends beyond these areas. I support people through a wide range of challenges, including trauma, life transitions, and relationship struggles. I also have extensive experience supporting families impacted by addiction, including helping them access the right resources and referrals.
That’s the professional side—but here’s the part that really matters: I’ve lived it. I was born and raised in Vancouver, and when I was 24, I relocated to Nanaimo to begin my own journey of recovery from a severe substance use disorder. I know firsthand what it feels like to be the person struggling, as well as the family member watching a loved one suffer. Today, I am grateful for over a decade of recovery, having maintained abstinence-based sobriety since 2014.
Because of this, I have come to understand that recovery is not simple—it’s a process. It often means working through trauma, facing co-occurring mental health challenges, and shifting long-standing patterns that can stretch back through generations. I approach this work with honesty and a commitment to helping people rediscover what matters most to them. Recovery is not just about surviving—it’s about building resilience, finding freedom, and creating the life you want.
